HOW THE TOMBS ARE BUILT

• Each Pharaoh gives you a budget to dig snares, passages and chambers.
• Snares, passages and chambers thwart different parties.
• The Seer reveals some of the intruders to come.
• After digging, place the Burial Chamber last, seal the tomb, and let the ages test your work.
• Earn renown for design and dread: depth, intruders turned back, and raiders claimed by the tomb. Fulfill the Pharaoh’s decree for more.
• Cards tagged cyan snare defend the tomb; gold passage and chamber cards only build it.
• Long descents drain supplies and cost more to dig.
• Each snare tests one talent against a number, and every party rolls a bonus of 0 to 2 on that test. A party that matches the number passes for certain; one that falls a point or two short may still defeat the snare.
• Some snares spring only once. After the first party defeats them they stand open, and every party that follows walks through unchecked.
• New snares appear as the dynasties pass.
